New Developments in Data Privacy

Isaac Newton Institute, Cambridge University, United Kingdom

5th December 2016 to 9th December 2016

The Data Linkage and Anonymisation Programme at the Isaac Newton Institute (see: http://www.newton.ac.uk/event/dla) is hosting its final workshop of the programme from December 5th to December 9th, 2016.

This workshop will provide broad coverage of research developments in data privacy, including statistical disclosure control and disclosure risk assessment; privacy assessment and protection; differential privacy; and privacy preserving data linkage methods. In particular, as the programme's closing workshop, it will provide a platform for research developed over the programme.

The first two days will consist of user-orientated 'open for business' workshops, delivered by the Turing Gateway to Mathematics:
§ New Approaches to Anonymisation<https://www.newton.ac.uk/event/ofbw30> (Mon 5th December)
§ Engaging People in Data Privacy<https://www.newton.ac.uk/event/ofbw31> (Tue 6th December)

The remaining three days will be research focussed with an emphasis on mathematical approaches to data privacy.

On the first day of the research focussed workshop, Wednesday, December 7th, we will be hearing from women scientists in the area of data linkage and anonymisation as part of an international event: Women in Data Science. This will be followed by a round table discussion and social event for women.

Deadline for applications: 19 October 2016.
