Two positions are offered by the Department of Computer and Communication
Systems, Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University. One position is right in
the area of Computer & Network Security, another encompasses Security and other
aspects of Computer & Network Systems, including Privacy.
The Faculty has a strong PhD program (with over 100 students) and a highly
successful Master programme in Information Technology Security (ITSec),
based on ongoing R&D activites in the areas of network security, cryptology,
security of smartcards and other authentication technologies, and usable
The selected candidates will be involved in teaching in the Information
Technology Security (ITSec) study field at the Master level, including
supervision of Master theses and consultancy or co-supervision of PhDs. They
are expected to get gradually involved in the industrial cooperation in the
ITSec area, and to be active in international cooperation, in both research and
Requirements: PhD in Informatics or related discipline. Languages - fluent
English (both spoken and written), other language(s) welcome. Existing track
record in both education and research in the ITSec area. Expert knowledge in at
least one of the areas covered by following courses: Secure coding principles
and practices, Security Technologies, Secure Network Design, Laboratory of
security and applied cryptography (description of these courses provided

Dynamic, flexible personality, able to work well in interdisciplinary teams.
Interests in fundamental and applied development in the ITSec area. Experience
from other countries than Czech & Slovak Republics (at least half a year).
Experience with research project team leadership is an advantage.
