Inria Privatics research team is looking for a highly motivated
candidate for a one year postdoctoral position to work on privacy in
location analytics. The research will be conducted in the Inria
Privatics team located at the CITI Lab, University of Lyon, France.

Inria, the French national institute for research in computer science
and control, is dedicated to fundamental and applied research in
information and communication science and technology (ICST). Inria has
a workforce of 3,800 people working throughout its eight research
centers established in seven regions of France.

The research project focuses on Privacy in Location Analytics Systems.
Those systems [1] collect radio signals (e.g. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and
Cellular) emitted by mobile devices to get insights on human
activities in an area of interest (head-counting, duration/frequency
of visits ...). This project aims at developing privacy-friendly
mechanisms for location analytics [2]. Those mechanisms should protect
the privacy of individuals while maximizing the utility of the
collected data. The successful applicant will be in charge of
developing and evaluating privacy-preserving techniques using
differential privacy [3] or any other data-sanitization framework. The
developed techniques will then be integrated in an experimental
platform for evaluation and demonstration purposes.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in computer science, strong analytical
skills and a background in at least one of the following fields:
statistics, probability, cryptography, and software development. A
previous experience in the design of privacy preserving mechanisms or
anonymization techniques would be an advantage.

The research will be conducted in the Inria Privatics team located at
the CITI Lab, University of Lyon, France.
